Living Room In the living room, appearance and spaciousness take centre stage. Large-format tiles from 60×60 cm or 80×80 cm look particularly elegant and make rooms appear larger. Porcelain stoneware in wood look or marble look creates a warm, high-quality atmosphere while being significantly easier to maintain than real parquet or natural stone. Bathroom In the bathroom, slip-resistant floor tiles rated R10 or higher are essential, especially in the shower. Porcelain stoneware is ideal here: waterproof, hygienic and, in smaller formats, also suitable for laying with a slight gradient. Our bathroom tiles are specifically designed for wet-room requirements. Kitchen In the kitchen, floor tiles need to withstand impacts, grease and moisture. Porcelain stoneware with a high abrasion class (PEI IV) and a matte surface is hard-wearing and easy to clean, even under daily strain from chairs, casters or dropped dishes. Hallway & Entrance The entrance area sees heavy footfall and is often exposed to dirt and moisture from outside. Robust, slip-resistant tiles in darker colours or with texture help hide signs of wear and make cleaning easier. Terrace For outdoor areas you need frost-resistant, slip-resistant floor tiles with high slip resistance (R11 or higher) and sufficient breaking strength. 2 cm thick porcelain stoneware slabs are particularly well suited for laying on a bed of grit or gravel. Popular Looks These looks are currently among the most sought-after floor tiles in our range: Wood look oak – warm wood look without the maintenance demands of real parquet Marble look – elegant tiles with natural veining for an exclusive ambience Concrete look – minimalist, modern and versatile Stone look – authentic natural stone appearance with significantly less maintenance Large format – bigger tile sizes for fewer grout lines and a calmer overall look What to Consider When Buying To ensure lasting enjoyment from your new floor tiles, keep the following points in mind: Abrasion class: For heavily used areas such as kitchens or entrances, we recommend at least PEI IV. Slip resistance (R-rating): For bathrooms and outdoor areas, tiles rated R10 to R11 or higher are advisable – find out more in our guide to slip-resistance ratings. Format: Large formats look more upscale, while smaller formats offer more flexibility for cutting and uneven floors. Wastage: Factor in around 10% wastage when ordering, to allow for cutting and breakage. Price: Floor tile prices vary depending on material and format – find a detailed overview in our pricing guide. Frequently Asked Questions Which floor tiles are suitable for underfloor heating? Porcelain stoneware has excellent thermal conductivity, making it ideal for underfloor heating. The tiles store heat well and release it evenly into the room, which can also help you save on heating costs. How much do floor tiles cost per m²? Depending on material, look and format, prices generally range between CHF 25 and CHF 90 per m². Simple porcelain stoneware tiles are more affordable, while high-quality large formats or elaborate marble looks cost more. Which tiles are slip-resistant enough for the bathroom? For bathrooms, we recommend floor tiles with slip-resistance class R10, and ideally R11 in the shower. Porcelain stoneware with a textured surface provides extra grip without making cleaning more difficult. How many extra floor tiles should I order? As a general rule, factor in around 10% wastage on top of the actual floor area, or up to 15% for diagonal laying or complex layouts. This also gives you a buffer for any later repairs.
